Privacy policy
Effective 30 October 2026.
What the app collects
- Plot data you enter or measure: stem positions, diameters and heights, species and other attributes, plot details, and the name you type as the surveyor. These are stored on your device.
- Location: the app uses the phone's GPS during a scan to place the stems on the earth. Location is stored with the plot on the device and goes into your export. It is not sent anywhere else.
- Camera and LiDAR: used live to measure stems. Camera frames are not stored.
- A diagnostic log kept on the device, which you may choose to send with a problem report.
What leaves the device
Nothing leaves the device unless you export a plot, send it from the app to a destination you choose, or email a file to support. The app has no analytics, no advertising and no third-party tracking. Apple's TestFlight and App Store collect crash reports and basic usage statistics under Apple's own terms when you have allowed that in your device settings.
Accounts and hosted plots
An account is optional and uses Sign in with Apple. The site stores the identifier Apple assigns, the name and email Apple passes on (the email may be a relay address), and the plots you upload from the app, with their stem positions and measurements. Plots are private unless you set them to link-only or public. Uploaded plots are kept on Cloudflare's infrastructure. You can delete any plot, or the whole account with every plot, from the account page or from the app; deletion is immediate and not recoverable.
Children
The app is a professional tool and is not directed at children.
